The inshore fishing is done using live bait and we go towards the mouth of the river or nearby shores where there is an abundance of inshore species.

A dream for a lot of fishermen is to fight a Rooster Fish and what better place to do it than Jaco, Costa Rica.   There are several spots that the Captains always go to for inshore fishing and have had a very good success rate for many years.   

The inshore fishing gives you the opportunity to go after Rooster Fish, Red Snapper, Jack Crevalle, Snook & Spanish Mackerel.  A lot of the inshore species are only catch and release such as the Jack Crevalle and Rooster Fish.  You are allowed to tag the fish for a taxidermy but it is not for keeps.

Inshore Fishing Charter Options

You can book a half day inshore which is from 7:00 to 12:00 or you can also do a half day inshore during the afternoon from 12:30 to 5:30  This includes fruits, snacks, drinks, crew, bait, and fishing gear.

There is also the 3/4 day inshore from 7:00 to 2:00.  This includes food, drinks, snacks, fishing gear and bait.

To finalize, we do provide the full day inshore from 7:00 to 4:30.  This is going to give you the most time on the water and it is the fishing charter that we recommend for inshore fishing.

The Famous Rooster Fish Gives A Great Battle

One of the main reasons why so many anglers love to reel in a Rooster Fish is because of it`s amazing strength.  The Rooster Fish does not give up easily so you really need to give it your best because this fish is a tough one to catch but a whole lot of fun.

   

There is also great eating fish found in the inshore grounds.

The Red Snapper and Snook are some of the best eating fish around and you can find these species during the inshore charter.  If you catch a red snapper or a snook, you are allowed to take it back home and prepare for dinner. The crew will fillet the fish for you and put in a zip blog bag with ice to keep it fresh.
